Our Practice
The Western Kentucky University Communication Disorders Clinic provides effective assessment and treatment services to individuals with communication disorders and serves as a state of the art training facility for students in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department. Student clinicians under the supervision of licensed and certified Speech Language Pathologists and/or Audiologists provide services. Evaluation, treatment, and consultative services are offered to any age individuals in the following areas:
• Language Disorders: result from any difficulty with the understanding and/or use of language.
• Articulation Disorders: result in incorrect production of speech sounds.
• Voice Disorders: result from any deviation in pitch, intensity, quality, or other basic vocal attribute, which consistently interferes with communication.
• Fluency Disorders (stuttering): result when there is an interruption of the flow of speech subsequently affecting the communication process.
• Hearing Disorders: result in an inability to perceive sound within the normal hearing range.
• Swallowing Disorders: result in an inability to swallow effectively.
• Accent/Dialect Reduction Therapy
• English as a Second Language (ESL) Therapy
